Information for Erasmus+ participants in the area.
A volcanic eruption has started in Iceland. The eruption is located on the Reykjanes peninsula approx. 30 km from the Icelandic capital, Reykjavik. It occurs in an unpopulated area and does not seem to pose any immediate danger to people or infrastructure.
In case Erasmus+ participants who are located in Iceland at the moment need information on these events, we recommend that they stay informed for example through the website of the Icelandic meteorological office, and/or the national broadcaster's website and Facebook account, and follow instructions from the Icelandic emergency services and local authorities.
